Care for Infected Piercings

WE ARE A LOCALLY OWNED JEWELRY AND BODY PIERCING SHOP LOCATED IN THE SPOKANE VALLEY MALL, IN BUSINESS SINCE 1999.

What to expect after your piercing.

Most piercings will swell within the first few days. This is normal. If a new piercing is red and swollen, that does not necessarily mean it is infected. It is also normal for it to have a clear, milky or slightly yellow discharge, however, if the discharge is green or dark yellow, it may be infected.

If the piercing swells to the point it is absorbing your jewelry (barbell piercings), please come back in and we will put a hoop in it for you at no charge. The hoop allows the piercing room to swell as much as it needs to. If you would prefer a longer barbell instead, this will be offered at a discounted price. The free or discounted offer is good, of course, if that piercing was done by us. If it wasn’t done by us, we are still happy to change the jewelry to a more appropriate piece or size for you, but not at the discounted price.

Remember, touching your piercing with dirty hands can infect your piercing. Always wash your hands just before touching your piercing or your jewelry, especially if it is a new piercing. It is also recommended that you protect your new piercings from getting tugged on as well as coming in contact with unwashed hair or dirty clothing and sheets.

We carry several aftercare products for piercings that may need some TLC. Please visit the Aftercare Products page to learn more about these products.
